

In the year 1988, he graduated from his college. He did his schooling from Swami Vivekananda High School and later did his graduation in Computer Science and Software Engineering from Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology in Navi Mumbai. Shankar studied under the guidance of Pandit Shrinivas Khale. At the age of 5, he began playing the veena.

As a child, he mastered Hindustani classical music and Carnatic music. His family had originally been from Palakkad, Kerala, India. Shankar was born on 3rd March 1967 in Chembur, Mumbai, India. They together compose songs for Indian films. Shankar Mahadevan is an Indian singer and composer who is also a part of the musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy group. From old songs to new ones, from patriotic to devotional, from dance to slow sufi ones, Shankar Mahadevan has experimented in all the genres and came out with flying colours.
